Our Beliefs

Proclaiming the message of God’s grace through Christian education and community outreach and continuing to connect and grow together in Christ while building lasting relationships with Jesus.

The teachings of the Lutheran Church are those of the original, ancient church of the apostles and early Christians.  The teachings come from the Bible, and the Bible alone.   What are those teachings?    To begin with the Bible and Lutherans teach that the Bible is God's unchanging, holy, and inspired word and that it explains itself and is the complete truth.

This truth teaches that we all have, internally and externally, a struggle with sin. Temptations, doubt, anger, anxiety, death, sickness, catastrophes, and more are part of our lives due to sin.  The teaching in the Bible that clearly exposes sin is called the law.  It is God's standard of holiness by which we measure ourselves.   The result?  We always fall far short and deserve his eternal punishment.  Is this the end of the story?  Thanks be to God it is not!

The Bible tells us about God's love, and his plan rooted in that love, to save us from sin.   The Bible calls this the gospel.   The gospel message is simple and powerful.   Jesus Christ, true God and true man, was punished on the cross for the sins of the entire world for all time.  Simple, yet profound.  When this gospel is preached God converts the heart.   The Holy Spirit creates faith through which we recieve this forgiveness.   All this is solely by the grace of God.  This is the simple work of the Triune God; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

God has given his church different ways that the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed.   Most of us hear it when the Word of God is spoken, but God also gives us the forgiveness of sins in Baptism, and in Holy Communion.

This is a short summary on a subject matter that has eternal consequences as it is about the eternal God!   For more details please read further in This We Believe or WhatAboutJesus.com or speak to me - Pastor Ib Meyer

Finally, our purpose is to help you by sharing the gospel of Christ.   The following are links to devotions to serve you with that wonderful gospel - to bring some peace and purpose that is eternal.   Enjoy and God bless.
